Manufacturing Process
FRP Sound Barrier is manufactured using compression molding or hand lay-up processes. It utilizes fiberglass cloth and chopped strand mat as the reinforcing materials, and epoxy resin or polyester resin as the matrix, with the addition of sound-insulating, flame-retardant, and anti-aging additives. It is cured and formed at high temperatures, and can be filled with acoustic cotton to enhance the sound insulation effect. The surface undergoes anti-corrosion and decorative treatments. The product leaves the factory only after passing sound transmission loss and fire-resistance testing.
Applications
Widely used in areas such as highways, railways, urban rail transit, viaducts, industrial parks, and residential complexes. They block the transmission of traffic and industrial noise, improving the quality of the surrounding environment. Suitable for harsh conditions-including outdoor, high-temperature, and humid environments-they combine effective sound insulation with practicality.

FAQ
Q: How effective is the noise reduction (sound absorption and insulation)?
A: It employs a "combined absorption and insulation" design: the high-density outer FRP panel provides efficient sound insulation, while the high-density rock wool or glass wool core offers powerful sound absorption, resulting in excellent overall noise reduction performance.
Q: What is the service life of the FRP sound barrier? Is maintenance required?
A: Formulated with high-performance UV-resistant and weather-resistant additives, it offers an outdoor service life of over 20 years; the smooth, rust-free surface is self-cleaning via rainwater, requiring virtually no maintenance.
Q: Is the construction difficult? How were load-bearing requirements addressed?
A: It is much lighter than traditional steel plates and concrete-with a density of only about one-quarter of theirs-making it highly advantageous for reducing the dead weight of elevated bridge structures. The construction utilizes a mainstream "slot-in" design with H-beam columns and fixed slots; this eliminates the need for complex on-site hoisting and ensures extremely high assembly efficiency.
